About Addo Elephant National Park
South Africa's third-largest national park, Addo is famous for its large elephant herds and is the only park in the world to house the Big Seven - including great white sharks and southern right whales.
Addo Elephant National Park, located near Port Elizabeth, was established in 1931 to protect the last 11 elephants in the Eastern Cape. Today it's home to over 600 elephants and has expanded to become one of South Africa's most important conservation areas. The park is unique in being the only place in the world where you can see the Big Seven (Big Five plus southern right whales and great white sharks).
